Caption list deduper: remove repeated captions
When a caption list has repeated lines, compare the entries with rules you can see and control. Paste one caption per line or a quoted CSV table, choose a caption column, and keep the first row for each exact match after your selected normalization.

Clean a caption list
Paste captions as one per line or choose CSV. For CSV, set whether the first row is a header and select the 1-based caption column. Choose whether to ignore case and collapse repeated spaces. The tool trims caption edges, skips blank captions, keeps the first row in each duplicate set, and lets you copy or download the cleaned TXT/CSV.
Blank captions are skipped. Caption keys are trimmed. The first original row in each duplicate group is kept, including its other CSV columns. Quoted CSV fields can contain commas, line breaks and doubled quotation marks.

How to use this utility
- Paste plain text with one caption on each line, or select CSV and paste a quoted table.
- If the CSV has headings, enable the header option; enter the caption column number starting at 1.
- Set case and repeated-space options, then review the input, unique and removed-row counts.
- Copy or download the cleaned list. CSV rows keep their other original columns.
Worked example
CSV example with header and caption column 2:
With case-insensitive matching, two rows with the same caption normalize to one kept row; first row and its other columns are retained.

What it does and does not do
- Matching is exact after trimming, with optional case folding and repeated-space collapsing; it does not detect near-duplicates or rewrite captions.
- Blank captions are skipped. The first original row in a repeated group is kept. CSV support includes quoted commas, line breaks and doubled quotes.
- Text stays in the browser.
