Choose a local JPEG to inspect selected camera, software, raw date and orientation fields. The report also distinguishes a detected GPS directory pointer from an incomplete or unsupported assessment. Download the report with its support limits retained.
For: Creators checking selected JPEG metadata before a content handoff. · Use it to: Inspect explicitly supported JPEG Exif fields locally with clear scan limits.
Choose a JPEG up to 20 MiB. Read the scan status before interpreting the fields, and retain the support notes when sharing the report. Other formats receive an explicit unsupported result.
This reads selected JPEG Exif headers locally, up to 20 MiB. Other formats receive an explicit unsupported result. The image is not uploaded, rewritten or stored by this tool.
JPEG APP1 Exif before the first image scan only. Selected ASCII camera/software/date fields and numeric orientation; GPS directory-pointer presence, not coordinates. No XMP, IPTC, MakerNote contents, other formats, metadata removal, privacy or authenticity assessment. Dates are raw text; no time zone is inferred.
Missing metadata is not a privacy or safety assessment. Location and other information can appear in fields and formats this viewer does not inspect.
Complete the required fields to prepare your export.
Your entered text and selected files stay in your browser.
The viewer reads selected APP1 Exif data before the first JPEG image scan: ASCII camera make, model, software and date fields, raw date-offset fields and numeric orientation. It follows bounded Exif directories and checks for the GPS directory pointer; it does not decode coordinates.
File size is limited to 20 MiB. The report retains marker, directory, entry and text-size limits. The tool does not inspect XMP, IPTC or MakerNote contents, rewrite the image, remove metadata or support other image formats.
A completed supported scan can report a GPS directory pointer detected or not found in that scope. When no supported Exif block is found, the file is unsupported or the scan cannot complete, GPS metadata remains unassessed. Invalid directory offsets and repeated or cyclic pointers do not produce a clean result.
Selected fields are withheld when the scan is incomplete. Choosing another file or clearing the selection removes the old result, so an earlier file’s fields are not presented as the new file’s report.
The example JPEG contains deliberately synthetic values: Synthetic Camera Co., Review Demo 1, Fixture Builder, orientation 6, raw capture date 2026:10:17 10:20:30 and raw offset +00:00. Its GPS directory contains only a version marker, not real coordinates. It is a known input for checking the viewer, not evidence about a customer’s camera.
Dates remain raw text, with no time zone inferred. Missing metadata is not a privacy, safety or authenticity assessment: location and other information can appear in data this viewer does not inspect. The selected file stays in the browser and is not uploaded by the tool.
