Crop an image and download the result

Choose a local image, select the crop ratio and adjust its position. Review the framing before downloading the PNG.

The preview is the actual PNG export. Reposition the crop to keep your subject in frame. Exports have a maximum long edge of 1600 pixels and never enlarge the source crop; rounding can change the ratio by a pixel.

Choose what belongs in the frame

Start with the ratio, then move the horizontal and vertical positions. Position 0% places the crop at the left or top of the available area; 100% places it at the right or bottom. At a ratio that already uses the full source width or height, that direction has no space to move.

Use zoom for a tighter crop

Zoom 1× uses the largest source crop that fits the selected ratio. Higher zoom values use a smaller source area. The tool never enlarges that source crop, so a tighter crop can produce a smaller output. Check the displayed pixel dimensions before downloading.

Check the PNG before sharing

  • The export has a maximum long edge of 1600 pixels. Integer rounding can change the ideal ratio by a pixel.
  • PNG preserves transparent areas from the source. A cropped PNG may be larger in bytes than a compressed source image.
  • These are generic aspect ratios. They do not promise a current platform placement specification or guarantee that a platform will keep text unobscured.
  • Choose PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 20 MiB and 25 million decoded pixels. Animated images become one still frame.
